Overview

The Nar Phu Valley Trek combined with Tilicho Lake and Mesokanto-La Pass is a truly off-the-beaten adventure in the Annapurna region. Opened to trekkers only in 2003, the hidden valleys of Nar and Phu remain among Nepal’s most untouched destinations, preserving ancient Tibetan-influenced culture, remote stone villages, and centuries-old monasteries. This trek blends cultural exploration with challenging high-altitude adventures, offering stunning views of Pisang Peak, Annapurna massif, and dramatic landscapes of canyons, glaciers, and high passes.

The journey leads you through lush rhododendron and pine forests, narrow gorges, and traditional settlements before reaching Phu village, home to the historic Tashi Lakhang Monastery. From Nar village, trekkers cross Kang-La Pass (5,322m) and continue towards the turquoise Tilicho Lake—the world’s highest lake—before conquering the strenuous Mesokanto-La Pass (5,200m). The trek concludes with a scenic mountain flight from Jomsom to Pokhara, leaving you with memories of breathtaking peaks, diverse cultures, and a true Himalayan wilderness experience.
