Overview

The Dhorpatan Tour via Burtibang from Baglung gateway offers an adventurous overland journey through scenic countryside and remote villages leading to the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve. Situated in the western part of Baglung District, this hidden gem lies on the southern flank of the majestic Dhaulagiri Mountain. The trip combines nature, culture, and wilderness exploration, providing an off-the-beaten-path experience that is both peaceful and rewarding without being overly demanding. Travelers can explore the vast Dhorpatan valley, alpine meadows, and diverse landscapes inhabited by local Magar communities. The Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve—Nepal’s only hunting reserve—permits regulated hunting and serves as a sanctuary for rare wildlife, including the endangered Musk Deer, Red Panda, and Himalayan Wolf. This tour is perfect for adventure seekers and nature lovers who wish to experience a blend of wilderness, local culture, and Himalayan beauty in a less-traveled region of Nepal.
