Chandragiri Hills Hiking is one of the best day hiking around at Kathmandu Valley. This hiking offers you to experience Forest trail with flora & fauna, majestic mountains views as well as best scenery of Kathmandu valley, Chakhel, Chitlang village. The hiking starts from Mata Temple (The temple is famous for the Matatirtha Aunsi festival, a day to honour mothers and motherhood. You will walk 2.5 hours steep up an old trail stone staircase to Chakhel Deurali. (Villager’s walking trail from Chakhel village to Kathmandu). After an hour walking through forest and finally reach in Chandragiri Hills at 2550m/8364ft where Chandragiri hills park is one of finest hill top park in Kathmandu. You will worship to Bhaleshwor Temple. You can observe spectacular mountains view west to east including Mt. Api, Saipal to Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Dorje Lakpa and Gaurishankar mountains range.

After spending few hour in Chandragiri hills, we can descend through same trail or Chitlang Bhanjyang to Thankot or under pass trail of Chandrigri cable car line. There is three alternative route to back to Highway for return to you hotel/Home. And easiest way to back through cable car. Once discussed with guide will take once trail among three alternatives trail. 

The Chandragiri hills inhabitant of an auspicious medical plant (herbs) and it has been found in Chandragiri jungle sub-tropical zone (1,000-2275 m). It is also a remarkable place to observe the verities of birds including Grey Wagtail, Steppe Eagle, Kingfishers, Common Myna, Indian Pond Heron, Oriental Turtle Dove, Red-vented Bulbul, Great Egret, House Crow, House Sparrow, Little Egret, Spotted Dove and so many others.
