Early morning our guide will transfer you to the airport for a scenic mountain flight to Lukla (2,850m). During trekking peak season, flights operate from Ramechhap/Manthali Airport (4–5 hrs drive from Kathmandu) due to heavy air traffic.
Upon arrival at Tenzing–Hillary Airport, Lukla, we meet our local crew and begin the trek. The trail passes Pasang Lhamu Gate, descends through Chaurikharka village, and continues past Cheplung and Ghat (2,530m), where you’ll see Buddhist mani walls, rock paintings, and chortens. Following the Dudh Koshi River, we reach the beautiful Sherpa village of Phakding (2,610m).
Afternoon optional walk to explore the village or visit the nearby monastery
Today the trail ascends steadily toward Namche, the gateway to Everest. Walking along the Dudh Koshi River, we cross several suspension bridges and pass Tok Tok and Benkar, with great views of Thamserku (6,608m) and Khumbi Yul Lha (5,761m).
The trail continues via Chhamuwa and Monjo (2,840m), where we enter Sagarmatha National Park (1,148 sq. km, established in 1976). Descending to Jorsale (2,740m), the last settlement before Namche, we stop for lunch.
After crossing the high bridge at the confluence of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi Rivers, a steep climb through pine forest leads to the first viewpoint of Mt. Everest (8,848m) and Nuptse (7,879m). From here, another hour brings us to Namche Bazaar (3,430m). Overnight in the lively Sherpa town
Today is set aside for acclimatization and short hikes. After breakfast, we trek uphill to Syangboche airstrip, then on to the famous Everest View Hotel (3,880m) for panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Khongde, and Kusum Kanguru.
We continue to Khumjung village (3,790m) to visit the monastery that houses the legendary Yeti Skull, as well as the Hillary School. From here, a short walk leads to Khunde, home to the Khunde Hospital, established by Sir Edmund Hillary. For those interested, an extra 45-minute hike takes us to Hillary Viewpoint (Gong-Ri, 4,200m) with a memorial stupa dedicated to Sir Edmund Hillary’s family.
Returning via the Government Yak Farm, we descend back to Namche. In the afternoon, explore the Sherpa Culture Museum, Sagarmatha National Park office, or enjoy the vibrant Saturday market if your trek coincides
After breakfast, we retrace our steps, descending steeply to the Bhote Koshi–Dudh Koshi confluence, and continue past Jorsale, Monjo, Tok Tok, and Phakding. The trail gradually climbs back to Lukla, where the trek ends.
In the evening, celebrate the completion of your Everest adventure with your trekking team and enjoy a farewell Sherpa-style dinner
Early morning, we walk to Lukla Airport for the return flight to Kathmandu (or Ramechhap, depending on season). Flights are usually scheduled in the morning due to afternoon winds.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Free day for shopping, relaxing, or connecting with onward travel. Your guide will also hand over trekking permits and a Trip Appreciation Card as a memory of the Himalayas.
