Walk through royal courtyards, circle whitewashed stupas and watch Nepal's living traditions unfold around you. In three unhurried days with a private local guide and vehicle, you will visit all seven UNESCO monument zones of the Kathmandu Valley: the royal squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, plus Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath and Changu Narayan. Between temples, pause for Newari snacks, craft lanes and the stories behind each site. Every day is planned for you, the pace is yours, and Ghumnajaau handles the details.

Your guide meets you at your hotel and takes you to Kathmandu Durbar Square. Explore the old palace courtyards, carved temples and the Kumari Ghar while your guide sets the scene with the valley's royal history. A Kumari appearance is not guaranteed.
Next is Swayambhunath, the hilltop stupa watched over by painted eyes, with prayer wheels, small shrines and views across the city. Your guide will suggest the best access route for your group; some steps are unavoidable.
After lunch, discover Patan Durbar Square and the lanes around it, known for Newar architecture and traditional metalwork. Museum time depends on your interests and opening hours, with tickets payable separately. Return to your hotel.
A lighter day with time to absorb each place. Begin at the public areas of Pashupatinath, Nepal's most important Hindu temple complex, set along the Bagmati River. Non-Hindus cannot enter the main temple, but your guide will explain the temples, ghats and customs you can see. Cremation ceremonies may be visible from public areas. Observe respectfully, and tell your guide if you would rather avoid them.
Continue to Boudhanath, one of the largest stupas in the world and the heart of Kathmandu's Tibetan Buddhist community. Walk the kora clockwise with pilgrims and enjoy lunch with a stupa view. Monastery access depends on local permissions. You return to your hotel by mid-afternoon, or stay on for the evening lamp-lit atmosphere (see add-ons).
Drive east to Bhaktapur, the best-preserved medieval city of the valley. Explore the Durbar Square palace area, then wander through Taumadhi Square with its five-storey Nyatapola temple and on to the potters' square. Try Juju Dhau (king curd) or local snacks at your own cost. Craft workshops are optional and need advance arrangement.
After lunch, continue to Changu Narayan, a hilltop temple complex known for fine stone and metal carvings and some of the valley's oldest inscriptions. Walk through the village to the temple, then return to Kathmandu for hotel drop-off.
